Department of Yarn started with my love for simple, mindfully-made items. I started working with yarn, and quickly started playing with other materials that caught my interest—jute, twine, hemp, plastic, the more unusual the better. I often start a project not knowing where it will take me or end. It is always a work in progress resulting in one-of-a-kind items. From handbags, totes, plant holders, baskets to scarves, the products of Department of Yarn continue to evolve like an ongoing meditation.
