Sugar Weather Textile is a collection of elegant home goods and accessories, made by hand in my Brooklyn studio, to be treasured and used in everyday life. I make work in small batches or as one-of-a-kind items using natural materials, primarily wool, linen and cotton. My processes include improvisational piecing, machine knitting, natural dyeing with indigo, and painting with fiber-reactive dyes. The results are textiles rich in texture, color and pattern. From these I create graphic lap blankets and cushions knit from soft thick wools, bold, hand-painted linen accessories, and more.
