WHAT:

Do you know your McQueen from your Givenchy? Join William Banks-Blaney AKA WilliamVintage in dissecting and detailing key vintage couture through a talk on his new book, 25 Dresses.

Through his selection of 25 iconic vintage dresses, William Banks-Blaney tells the history of twentieth-century couture, the fashion designers who created the dresses and the women who wore them. From Fortuny to Dior to Mugler, the inspiration behind each dress is considered – whether that be Classic statuary, Secessionist architecture or fetish wear – as well as its legacy within contemporary fashion, thus determining each dress’s place within fashion history.
